CPi Biotech delivers custom Benchtop TFF to a new customer in Europe

We were delighted to get the opportunity to work with a new customer based in central Europe, on a bespoke Benchtop Tangential Flow Filtration system.

This client required a pilot-scale benchtop version of our Discover TFF to be used during their research phase of new product development. It needed to be designed for lab-scale TFF perfusion operations.

Engineered for ease of use, the system seamlessly integrates into laboratory workflows as a benchtop solution. Its intuitive 7-inch full colour display provides real-time monitoring of flow rates and pressure during TFF processes, ensuring precise control and performance.

This system is comprised of a feed pump, permeate pump, three pressure sensors with feedback, a flow meter, an optional PCV, and a single-use assembly kit. The feed pump is designed to minimise shear impact on the culture while enabling precise control of transmembrane pressure across the filter. The system also allows the operator to set and control a transmembrane pressure (TMP) setpoint.

Configurations can also be provided to meet specific end-user requirements. In addition, single-use connectors can be adapted to support a wide range of laboratory connection needs, for example, Aseptiquik connectors or weldable assemblies.

Our team of single-use experts designed the system to be set up on a benchtop surface close to the bioreactor, with the controller screen easily accessible to the user. This project was executed to a fast-track programme, including full project management, detailed engineering, design, build, and delivery. The client will be further supported with training and ongoing support from the team here in Little Island.
